Welcome

We are excited to announce the return of the Guntersville Christmas Boat Parade!  We have been thinking about it for years and have decided to make 2021 the "Trial Run" for the "Guntersville Lights on the Lake".  2022 will be the 1st Annual "official" return, so we would love everyone to be part of the (I am sure to be historic) "Trial Run"!  This will take place on December 11th with line up starting at 4:30 pm. There is a lot of excitement around this event and we are sure it can be as great as it once was! Follow us for any updates on Facebook and Instagram at the links at the bottom of the page.  Please register your boat below, and feel free to contact us with any questions! If you have any pictures of your boat lit up, we would love to see them!

Update 12/11/2021 3:15pm

-We had the Captains meeting and we are still having the parade. The City of Guntersville parade has been pushed back to 5 pm for the start time.  The boat parade will start at the end of the city parade at approximately 5:30 - 5:45.  Please call, email, or text with any questions.  256-610-3521.

Parade Route

We have been blessed to run into several people that were involved in the old Guntersville boat parade.  Some were in it, and some actually sat on the board.  I would like to give a special thanks to everyone for their input, and excitement on bringing back the parade.

After much discussion we have decided to follow the same parade route as the original parade.  Both for nostalgia as well as ease of viewing.  The only change is that the parade will start in the area of City Harbor.  It will then go under the bridge, make a straight shot to the Guntersville lower light, turn toward the pier on Lurleen B. Wallace drive,  and then back to the bridge. The parade will make two laps then disburse at the end of second lap.

Additional Information

"Woodja" (The trawler in the picture on the front page) will be leading the parade.  She will be traveling at approximately 5 knots.  Traveling at this speed, it will take between an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half to complete the parade.

There will not be an official line up this year.  All smaller boats should be behind the lead boat, and up in size from there to the end.  "Compass Rose" will be the last boat in line this year.  Please monitor Channel 09 for any information that may need to be given during the parade.  As always, please feel free to call, text, or email with any questions!

    Yes, all boats are welcome.

Line up is at 4:30 pm in the area between City Harbor and Guntersville Marina.  The parade will start close to 5:00 pm depending on timing of the city parade downtown.

The water depth range is from 50'-60' in the channel to the most shallow being 13'.  The parade route was checked this past weekend (11/28) while the water is down a bit the most shallow was 13'.

If the only problem is rain we will continue with the parade.  Other factors that could cause a cancellation could be wind, lightning, and severe thunderstorms.

The cancellation could be pushed right up until the time of the parade.  We will try to make the decision as soon as possible.  We like everyone want to give every opportunity  to make the parade happen.
